Help us investigate the Agreement!
The Agreement to end the occupation of Redbud Woods signed July 18, 2005 named eight formal concessions from then-interim-President Hunter Rawlings, as well as five additional pledges from Vice-President of Students Susan Murphy, in return for the cooperation of "known protestors [sic]" during construction of the new University avenue parking lot. Redbudwoods.org has embarked on a thorough and systematic investigation into the fulfillment of terms of the Agreement. We will report our findings on this page, and in the documentary video now under production.

We will conduct this study primarily through interviews with stakeholders. If you or someone you know has been affected by, or has insight into the fulfillment of, the July 18 Agreement, please let us know!

In brief, the concessions and pledges were:
(1) Free bus passes for new students
(2) Student Assembly transportation referendum or equivalent survey
(3) Establishment of a Cornell Neighborhood Council
(4) Environmental sustainability intern, regular summits and reports
(5) Dean of Faculty committee and report on "the balance between environmental sustainability and parking needs"
(6) Regular senior administration Q&As at University Assembly meetings
(7) Solicitation of views from "Cornell community members, the Cornell Neighborhood Council and appropriate city officials" in the University's master planning process
(8) Dropping of charges against protesters
(1) Harvesting of valuable wood from felled trees
(2) Augmentation of "planting efforts across campus over the next several years"
(3) Work with Tom Eisner to acquire and donate land to the community for preservation
(4) Use of Cornell resources for resolution of disputes emerging from the Cornell Neighborhood Council
(5) Consider funding request from Sustainable Tompkins
